Privacy policy

Lunamux has no ads, no crash reporting, and no tracking. Your terminal sessions never pass through the developer — they go straight from your device to the server you chose. Update checks are counted by platform and country, without cookies.

What stays on your device

Lunamux keeps your saved hosts — their labels, addresses, ports and certificate fingerprints — the authentication token each server issued you, and a little bookkeeping such as which news items you have dismissed. Hosts and bookkeeping are deleted along with the app. Tokens live in the system keychain, which on iPhone and iPad can outlive it; a leftover token is useless without the server that issued it.

What goes to your server

When you connect, Lunamux talks directly to that server over an encrypted connection. Your terminal sessions, file browsing and git activity travel only between your device and the server you chose. Your settings — theme, layout and saved terminal output — are kept by the server as well, on the machine you run it on. The developer runs no relay in between and never sees any of it.

Permissions

Lunamux asks for two things on iPhone and iPad, each only when you first use the feature that needs it:

• Camera — to scan a pairing code. Android uses the system scanner and never asks.
• Local network — to reach a server on the same Wi-Fi. Connecting over the internet or a VPN doesn’t need it.

Android asks for nothing at all. On no platform does Lunamux have access to your location, contacts, photos, files outside the app, or microphone.

Update and news checks

About once a day the app fetches two small public files (versions.json and news.json) to see whether there is a new version or any news to show you. The developer counts these requests, recording which platform asked — macOS, iOS or Android — the country it came from, and the time. No cookie is set and no IP address is stored: the country is worked out from the network address, which is then discarded.

Website statistics

The website counts visits the same cookieless way — which page was viewed, the site you arrived from, an approximate country, and the browser. It sets no cookies and cannot follow you to other sites.
